Drive out the Lower Sky Road to the old gatehouse and walk in to the ivy-clad ruin of John D'Arcy's castle, past the standing stones, with views over the bay.

Full Day: the Bog, the Bay and the Music
A full day of the things Clifden does best: the Derrygimlagh bog where Marconi and Alcock and Brown made history, a coral beach, a boat trip and a session in a trad pub. A proper Connemara day out, weather permitting.

Walk the Derrygimlagh loop
Drive south to the Derrygimlagh Discovery Point and walk the 5km bog loop past the Marconi wireless ruins and the Alcock and Brown landing cairn.
