A Village With a Story

From Viking raiders to a pirate queen's legendary kidnapping, Howth has been shaped by the sea for over a thousand years. Today it's a thriving fishing village where harbour seals beg for scraps, puffins nest on nearby islands, and cliff paths lead to some of the most dramatic coastline near Dublin.

Howth Castle — one of Ireland's oldest continuously occupied buildings — still sets an extra place at dinner, honouring a promise made to Grace O'Malley in 1576.
