Coral Strand, Mannin Bay

← All things to do

About

A beach on the edge of Mannin Bay near Ballyconneely, around 10km southwest of Clifden, known for its pale, crunchy sand. The white grains are not true coral but maerl, a coralline algae, washed up over centuries. It is a striking spot on a bright day, with clear water and views across the bay, and it is the access point for the Mannin Bay Blueway for kayaking and snorkelling.
