About

Known to everyone in Southwold as the Nellie, and the pub that describes itself, without much argument from anyone, as the drinking pub in town. It sits on East Street on the short walk between the High Street and the cliff top, which is why it fills. The pub is explicit that it does not take table bookings: you grab a table or a bar stool when one comes free, and the same goes for the courtyard garden and the benches out front, which are the most fought-over seats in Southwold on a warm evening. Adnams beers, wines and spirits, families and dogs welcome, and pizza rather than a full menu, on days and times listed on the pub's own food and drink page.
