Mullins has been on Market Place since long before Margate became a weekend-supplement destination, and it is the corrective to any account of the town's food scene that starts in 2011. The cooking is Caribbean, the room is warm and unfashionably comfortable, and it is the place a lot of Margate goes for a proper sit-down dinner rather than a small plate. It sits directly opposite the old Margate Museum building in the Old Town's central square, which puts it about ninety seconds' walk from Bottega Caruso and the Crab Museum, so it is easy to fold into an Old Town evening. Closed Sundays.
