The Great British Pizza Company sits on Marine Drive with the beach on the other side of the road, and it has been part of the seafront long enough to be a fixture rather than an arrival. It is a sourdough pizza place, and it is the answer to the specific Margate problem of wanting to feed a group of mixed ages after a day on Main Sands without booking anything three weeks in advance. Seven days a week, and one of the few places on the seafront that stays reliably open into the evening in the shoulder seasons. Reservations are taken by phone rather than through an online system, so ring 01843 297700 if you are more than a couple of people on a summer weekend.
