Forts Café
8 Cliff Terrace, Cliftonville, Margate, Kent
About
Forts is up on Cliff Terrace in Cliftonville, which means a short uphill walk from Turner Contemporary and a view if you get an outside table. It does brunch, and it does it with more savoury depth than the format usually allows, alongside proper coffee and a cake counter. It opens at 08:00 on weekdays and 09:00 at weekends and shuts at 16:00 every day, so it is a morning and early-afternoon place rather than somewhere to drift into at five. It has no website, only an Instagram, which is normal for Cliftonville and is the single most common reason a genuinely good Margate business is hard to check before you travel.
