Malmaison Edinburgh
1 Tower Place, Leith, Edinburgh, EH6 7BZ
About
The boutique chain's original 1994 opening, in a former Seamen's Mission at Tower Place on the Leith waterfront, with 100 rooms and suites and the Chez Mal brasserie and bar. Staying in Leith rather than the centre is a deliberate choice that suits eaters: The Kitchin, Fishers and the Shore's pubs are on the doorstep, Britannia is a short walk, and the centre is about ten minutes by taxi or a direct bus up Leith Walk. Note for 2026 stays: the hotel's own site flags exterior renovation works in progress and Edinburgh's new 5% visitor levy applying to stays from 24 July 2026.
