Grassmarket Hotel
94-96 Grassmarket, Edinburgh, EH1 2JR
About
A quirky mid-range hotel on the Grassmarket itself, two minutes' walk from the Royal Mile with the Castle rock looming directly overhead. Rooms lean into the location with magnetic wall-sized city maps, and the hotel courts direct bookers with small perks; the real asset is the address, in the middle of the Old Town's liveliest square, with Victoria Street's shops and half a dozen historic pubs on the doorstep. Light sleepers should ask for a quieter room at the back: the Grassmarket on a Friday night is not a monastic experience.
