About
An Irish-speaking peninsula around 11 km south-west of Dungarvan, part of Gaeltacht na nDéise and one of the smallest coastal Gaeltacht areas in Ireland, where Irish is still the everyday language. Home to Coláiste na Rinne, the Irish-language college running here since 1909, with the Comeragh Mountains behind and the working fishing harbour of Helvick Head at the tip.
