How to reach Dungarvan by bus, or car.

Bus

Dungarvan has no railway station, so the bus is the main public transport link. Bus Éireann Route 40 runs through the town on the Cork-to-Waterford corridor, stopping in the centre, and connects Dungarvan with Waterford city to the east and Cork city to the west via Youghal.

  • Route 40 is the workhorse link: Cork to the west, Waterford to the east, through Dungarvan.
  • There is no train to Dungarvan; the nearest railway station is Waterford Plunkett, reached by Route 40.

Driving

Dungarvan sits on the N25, the main Cork-to-Waterford road, roughly halfway between the two cities. About 45 minutes from Waterford city and around 1 hour from Cork. The N25 is mostly dual carriageway and bypasses the town centre.
