Local Essentials
The practical stuff most travel sites skip. Everything you need to know before visiting Dungarvan, from parking to pharmacies.
Accessibility
Greenway
The Waterford Greenway is a sealed, level former railway line, suitable for wheelchairs and buggies for much of its length. The Dungarvan-to-Durrow section from the Abbeyside trailhead is the most accessible local stretch.
Castle
Dungarvan Castle has a cobbled courtyard and historic structures; the ground level is largely accessible but the upper floors of the barracks involve stairs. Contact the OPW for specific access information.
Beaches
Clonea Strand has a car park close to the beach; check seasonally for any beach-access matting. The Cunnigar is a natural sand spit with no surfaced path and is not wheelchair accessible.
For detailed venue-level accessibility, contact venues directly. Coverage in Dungarvan is patchy online.
