    Five minutes' walk into the Georgian market square. Browse the independent shops; if it is Thursday, the farmers market is on, roughly 9:30 to 14:00.

    Lunch in the square

    A cafe or pub on or near Grattan Square. Keep it light if you are about to cycle. Quealy's is a reliable town-centre option.

    Greenway to Durrow and back

    Hire a bike at the Abbeyside trailhead, from around €15/day, ride roughly 10 km east through the Durrow tunnel and over the Ballyvoyle viaduct to Durrow, then ride back. The tunnel and viaduct are the highlight of the whole line.

A Full Day in Dungarvan

    Drive the roughly 11 km loop south-west to the Déise Gaeltacht: bilingual signs, the Coláiste na Rinne area set against the Comeraghs, then out to the working harbour at Helvick Head for the views. Drive it slowly.
