A tapas menu and a wine list in the front rooms of a Georgian guest house on Townsend Street, run by Martin and Lorraine. It is an evening-only operation and the week is short: closed Monday to Wednesday, open Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday from 5pm, and Sunday and bank holiday Monday from 4pm. That makes it one of the few places in Birr doing something other than Irish pub food or hotel dining, and it books out on festival weekends. Reserve through the booking form on the guest house's own site. The building also takes overnight guests, and Townsend House describes itself as the only Failte Ireland approved and registered guest house in Birr.
