The restaurant locals name first when you ask where to eat in Birr, and the one with the awards to back it. Sanjay Vishwakarma's kitchen on Market Square took Best Restaurant in Offaly at the Irish Restaurant Awards in March 2025, and in May 2026 the Offaly Independent reported him collecting Best World Cuisine for Leinster at the same awards. It is a small, busy town-centre room rather than a grand dining space, and it fills on Friday and Saturday nights, so go early or expect to wait. There is no website: the restaurant trades through its Facebook page, which is where current hours and any closures are posted. Walk in or phone ahead through the Facebook page rather than looking for an online booking form.
