Birr Castle Demesne states its main paths are well maintained and wheelchair friendly, with a certified lift to the first floor of the Science Centre and accessible parking in the Marian Hall car park opposite the entrance.
Castle
The Guided Castle Tour is not wheelchair accessible. The castle is a listed building with many steps and the estate says so plainly.
Town
The town centre is compact and flat, but the Georgian footpaths on the malls are narrow in places and some kerbs are high.

The nearest acute hospital, about 35km north of Birr. There is no emergency department in Birr itself.

Parking
Marian Hall Car Park, Cornmarket Street
Directly across from the pedestrian entrance to Birr Castle Demesne. Birr Castle's own Getting Here page states this machine is coin only and that there is no parking inside the demesne. Accessible spaces are here.
Wilmer Road car park
Free car park just off Wilmer Road behind the town playground, a few minutes' walk from Oxmantown Mall. Listed as free by Birr Festival of Music's Getting Here page.
On-street, Oxmantown Mall
Free on-street parking along the Mall. Do not block resident driveways.
On-street, Emmet Square and town centre
Paid on-street parking operates on a number of streets including Emmet Square. Main Street is one-way.
