The Crown, Southwold
90 High Street, Southwold, Suffolk IP18 6DP
About
A Georgian building of 1740 on the High Street, and the second Adnams property in the town centre. It runs as a pub and restaurant downstairs with rooms above, and the tone is deliberately less formal than The Swan: dark wood, mismatched chairs, coastal-styled bedrooms. Being on the High Street it is a two-minute walk from the Market Place, five from the seafront and about ten from Gun Hill. Rooms book through the hotel's own system, and Adnams runs seasonal two and three night offers from its own site. Room numbers were not independently confirmed during this research pass.
