A pub on Sun Bank by bridge 41 of the Llangollen Canal, about 2.6km east of Llangollen Bridge in a straight line and still in Denbighshire. It calls itself a bar and restaurant with freshly cooked food and a family and dog-friendly welcome, with a beer garden, converted barns to stay in and motorhome stopovers. There is a quiz every Wednesday at 8pm, £2 a player, with the money going to Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham. Its site publishes no opening hours, so ring 01978 860651 before you walk out along the towpath for a meal.
