The Cavern Club
About
The cellar club on Mathew Street where the Beatles played nearly 300 times between 1961 and 1963, rebuilt on the original site after the 1970s original was demolished and later reconstructed using around 15,000 of the original bricks. Live music runs daily from around 11am on the club's stages, with free entry through the day and ticketed evening shows. The original entrance to the 1957 club, a few doors along Mathew Street, is marked and worth finding even though performances now happen at the rebuilt club. The wider Cavern Quarter around Mathew Street, including the Cavern Pub, John Lennon's statue and the Beatles-themed shops, makes up the city's most visited heritage cluster outside the Albert Dock.
