Train
Liverpool Lime Street (CRS code LIV), on Lime Street a short walk from St George's Hall and the top of Bold Street, is the city's main intercity station: Avanti West Coast runs direct trains from London Euston in around two hours, and there are direct services from Manchester, Birmingham, Preston and beyond. Liverpool South Parkway (CRS code LPY), south of the centre, is the useful interchange station for Liverpool John Lennon Airport and for the Beatles' Childhood Homes tour departure point, with its own mainline and Merseyrail services. Within the city and across Merseyside, Merseyrail's electric network (the Northern, Wirral and City Lines) connects the centre's three underground stations, Liverpool Central, Moorfields and James Street, to the suburbs, the Wirral and beyond.
