A National Trust minibus tour, capped at 15 people, taking in the interiors of Mendips on Menlove Avenue, the house where John Lennon grew up with his Aunt Mimi, and 20 Forthlin Road in Allerton, the McCartney family's council house where Paul grew up and where he and Lennon wrote many of the Beatles' earliest songs. Both houses are furnished as they were in the 1950s. Morning tours depart from bus stand 2 at Liverpool South Parkway station; afternoon tours depart from Speke Hall. Photography inside the houses is not permitted, and large bags cannot be accommodated. Advance booking is strongly recommended, especially in summer.
