About
Tom and Michaela Kitchin's Stockbridge gastropub, opened in 2013 and deliberately built as a genuine neighbourhood pub rather than a restaurant wearing a pub costume. It has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand continuously since 2017, butchers whole animals in-house, and pairs proper pub dishes, fish pie, steak pie, haggis, with the Kitchin family's farm-to-table sourcing. The interior mixes Scandinavian lines with tweed, a nod to Michaela's Swedish heritage, and the Sunday market crowd from up the road fills it at weekends. The name is Scots: scran is food, a scallie is a rascal.
