The Griffin is the High Street pub Trim sends visitors to when they ask where the music is, and it has been in the same family line since Michael Lenihan took it on in 1948, which is why older locals still call it Lenihan's. The pub itself dates from 1904 and is named for James Griffin, a Trim publican who was elected to the Dáil in 1957. The front bar is famously tiny, and the house line about it being the best fifteen square feet in the country is not entirely a joke. Trad sessions are the draw; the pub opens Thursday through Sunday.
