The Crowe's Nest Bar & Bistro
Main Street, Cong, Co. Mayo, F31 XF75
About
The bar of Ryan's Hotel, and the practical centre of the village: the Bus Eireann 422 stop for Cong is literally named after it, so if you arrive by bus this is where you get off. Three connected rooms, an open fire, a patio at the back over the Cong River, and a seasonally changing menu that runs from bar food to full plates. They pour their own Connacht Pale Ale alongside a long whiskey list. The hotel's separate Fennel Seed Restaurant, which seats about 120, is used mostly for functions and family occasions rather than walk-in dinner, so the bar is where you eat on a normal night.
