The Coach House Bar at Dooly's
Dooly's Hotel, Emmet Square, Townparks, Birr, Co. Offaly, R42 KC56
About
The bar of Dooly's Hotel, which stands on Emmet Square and has been a Birr landmark for generations. The hotel came through a refurbishment and now runs the Coach House Bar for food and pints, the Bianconi Courtyard for outdoor dining and Melba's next door for late nights, named for the soprano Dame Nellie Melba, who has a plaque on the Birr FAN Trail. The hotel's own page advertises live tunes in the Coach House on Saturdays. It is the most central place in town to sit down: Emmet Square is the middle of Birr and the Garda station, the post office and the butcher are all on the same square.
