River Maigue Riverside Walk

About
The River Maigue runs along the edge of the village, and a riverside walk gives you the quieter, greener side of Adare away from the traffic on Main Street. The path follows the freshwater river past the medieval friary setting and the parkland edge, with herons, ducks and other river wildlife, and it is the easiest way to get a sense of the village's setting beyond the thatched street. It is a gentle, mostly flat walk, good for an hour with children or as a break between the sights. Note that parts of the river frontage sit near the Adare Manor grounds, so keep to the public paths and check any access signs.
