The Blue Door
Main Street, Adare, Co. Limerick
About
The Blue Door is one of the thatched cottages on Main Street turned over to food and drink, serving Irish classics in a low-beamed room with a beer garden behind. It is the kind of place people photograph from the street and then eat in: hearty, unfussy cooking, a pint, and a spot in the garden on a fine day. It sits right on the busy thatched stretch, so it can fill with passing visitors in summer. Come off-peak or early if you want the room to yourself. A table can usually be found on the day.
