A working chocolate manufactory on Castlegate, founded to bring real chocolate-making back to the city of Rowntree and Terry. The open factory makes single-origin bars, truffles and caramels on site; the chocolate cafe pours some of the best hot chocolate in the north; and the emporium sells the range alongside gift hampers. Workshops run daily, from one-hour chocolate-bar making to bean-to-bar masterclasses, bookable on the venue's online calendar. Two minutes from Clifford's Tower and Jorvik, and the natural follow-on from York's Chocolate Story for anyone who wants to make rather than just hear about it.
