Blair Castle and the Explorers Garden open in April, and the Atholl Highlanders parade at the end of May.
Spring is when the seasonal places come back. Blair Castle opened on 1 April in 2026, and the Explorers Garden behind the theatre also reopened in April. At the end of May the Atholl estate holds the Atholl Highlanders Parade and the Atholl Gathering at Blair Castle, on 29 and 30 May in 2027. Walkhighlands says the Black Spout is at its most impressive after heavy rain.
Long evenings for Ben Vrackie and the beer garden at the Moulin Inn. Blair Athol Distillery stays open to 19:00 from June to August.
Summer is for the hill and the beer gardens. Ben Vrackie is a half-day from the car park above Moulin, and the Moulin Inn's patio is at the bottom. Blair Athol Distillery stays open until 19:00 from June to August, according to Malts, and the Old Mill Inn runs wood-fired pizzas in its beer tent. The theatre's season is on, so book a show and the pre-theatre table at Port-na-Craig together.
The Enchanted Forest's 2026 run, which was launched on 8 October, ends on 8 November; Blair Castle and the Explorers Garden close at the end of October; the dam visitor centre is shut on Mondays from 14 September.
October is the month Pitlochry fills up after dark. The Enchanted Forest's 2026 show, its 25th year, was launched in Faskally Wood on 8 October and ends on 8 November. Every visitor goes out by shuttle from Fishers Hotel, and if you are eating at Fern Cottage first in a party of five or more, it asks you to phone 01796 473840. By day, Forestry and Land Scotland promises autumn colour in Faskally, and the Killiecrankie gorge is open every day, with its visitor centre and cafe open 10:00 to 17:00 (check winter dates with the National Trust for Scotland). Blair Castle closes on 30 October and the Explorers Garden on 31 October. The Highland Games are earlier, on a Saturday in September.
My Fair Lady runs at the theatre from 21 November to 31 December 2026; Blair Castle's Christmas market is 20 to 22 November.
Winter is the theatre's season. My Fair Lady, with Alan Cumming as Professor Higgins, runs from 21 November to 31 December 2026, and the Atholl estate holds a Christmas market at Blair Castle from 20 to 22 November. Blair Athol Distillery keeps its 10:00 to 17:00 hours through the winter but warns it may close at short notice in bad weather, and the Wee Choo Choo is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Perth and Kinross Council closed Atholl Road for a New Year street party on 1 January 2026.
