The small brewery behind the Moulin Inn, which the hotel says opened in time for the Glorious Twelfth of 1995 and calls one of the first microbreweries in Scotland. Most of what it brews is drunk across the road at the inn. The beers include Ale of Atholl, a darker ale bottled since 1999, Old Remedial, a stronger winter warmer made with local honey, and a lighter ale. The hotel offers free brewery tours; its brewery page gives 10:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday, while its home page says daily, so phone first. Groups of more than six should phone to book, and tastings are in the inn.
Pitlochry's second distillery, dating to 1825. Closed to the public until further notice; whisky sold online.
