The best-sited restaurant in North Berwick and it knows it: the Rocketeer occupies the town's former coastguard station on Victoria Road, right on the harbour, with a glass extension that puts the water, the boats and the Bass Rock in front of every table. The kitchen leans hard on shellfish and fish landed a few yards from the door, with lobster the signature. It runs from breakfast through to dinner rather than as a two-sitting evening restaurant, which makes it unusually useful on a day trip, and it will do a takeaway box if you would rather eat on the Anchor Green or the beach. Booking by phone is strongly encouraged, particularly in summer and at weekends.
