The Herringbone
1-3 Westgate, North Berwick, East Lothian, EH39 4AE
About
An all-day bar and restaurant at the Westgate end of the town, a couple of minutes' walk up from the harbour, describing itself as a relaxed and independently minded local. The format is brunch into small plates into comfort classics into evening drinks, built on seasonal Scottish produce, and it is the most useful address in North Berwick for the awkward times of day when the seafood places are between services. It takes bookings online through its own site as well as by phone, which makes it the easy fallback when Osteria and the Rocketeer are full.
