About
Langland is the Mumbles family beach and the surfers' one, a sandy bay below Newton with rows of beach huts along the top of the shore and Langland's Brasserie on the prom. Swansea Council manages the beach and rents out its huts, the oldest of which date from the 1920s. The surf breaks change with the tide, and the reef break at Crab Island at low tide is for experienced surfers only. Rotherslade, the smaller cove next door that some locals call Little Langland, is joined to it at low water. The coast path from Bracelet Bay arrives here, and the path on to Caswell Bay leaves from the far end.
