A small independent bookshop on Market Place, in the middle of the Old Town, and the natural pairing with the town's October literary festival. It is a curated shop rather than a stock-everything one, which is what you want in a room this size, and it keeps longer and more reliable hours than most of the Old Town independents: ten until six every day, and until four on Sunday. Directly opposite the old museum building and about ninety seconds from the Crab Museum, so it slots into an Old Town loop without a detour.
