NorthDown Brewery
Unit J1CA, Westwood Industrial Estate, Channel Road, Westwood, Margate, Kent
About
Margate's brewery, working out of a unit on the Westwood industrial estate not quite two miles inland from the seafront, which is the unglamorous but honest answer to where beer in a seaside town actually gets made. It is a working brewery rather than a visitor attraction dressed as one, with a taproom operation alongside the production side and shorter weekend hours than weekday ones. Worth knowing that Margate has two brewing operations with a presence in the town: NorthDown out at Westwood, and Floc, who run The Lifeboat in the Old Town. If you want a brewery visit, this is the one; if you want to drink Margate beer in Margate, the Old Town pubs are the shorter walk.
