About

The skincare business that grew out of Margate and built its whole identity on the Thanet coastline, formulating with locally harvested seaweed, Dulse, Kelp and Serrated Wrack among them, extracted in its own laboratory. Its fragrance range is named after places on this coast: Botany, Dreamland, Pegwell, Reculver, Richborough, St John, Walpole. The important practical note is the name. The business now trades as Dulcie, having previously been known as Haeckels, and a good deal of published coverage still uses the old name. The old haeckels.co.uk domain redirects to the current brand, but do not assume every third-party listing under the old name is current. The Cliftonville store on Cliff Terrace is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Plastic-free packaging and in-store refills are a core part of the offer rather than an add-on.
