About

The walk from the car park at the very end of the Glen Nevis road through the Nevis Gorge to An Steall, the waterfall. The John Muir Trust, which looks after the ground, calls it Scotland's second highest falls, with water plunging more than 100 metres, describes a walk through rocky gorges and grassy meadows with the chance to cross the wire bridge over the River Nevis, and counts around 60,000 people a year on the route. Walkhighlands gives the route as 3.5 km with 220 metres of ascent, one and a half to two hours, on a path it calls very rough and rocky with steep drops. It calls the wire bridge notorious: it can be crossed by the brave with great care, and you have to cross back. This car park is not a way up Ben Nevis: Mountaineering Scotland has warned that Google Maps at times directed summit-seekers here, onto pathless, steep ground.
