The gondola at Nevis Range, at Torlundy, which the operator puts seven miles north of Fort William off the A82, lifts you from 100 metres at the base station to 650 metres on Aonach Mòr in about 15 minutes, over 2.3 kilometres of hillside, in six-seat closed cabins. Nevis Range calls it the UK's only mountain gondola. At the top are the Snowgoose cafe and two short walks the operator calls relatively easy: Sgurr Finnisgaig, about 45 minutes return, and Meall Beag, about an hour return. It runs daily, weather permitting, so read the Nevis Range mountain report on the morning. Dogs can ride on a lead.
