The Grand Brighton
97-99 King's Road, Brighton, BN1 2FW
About
The Grand sits on the seafront at the western end of King's Road, a wedding-cake Victorian pile that has hosted party conferences for decades and survived an IRA bomb in 1984. It underwent a major refurbishment and now runs a proper spa, the Cyan restaurant, and a genteel afternoon tea on the Victoria Terrace looking straight out to sea. Rooms at the front get full sea views and gulls at dawn, while rooms at the back are quieter and cheaper. It is the closest thing Brighton has to a grand European seafront hotel, and it charges accordingly.
