Hotel du Vin & Bistro Brighton
2 Ship Street, Brighton, BN1 1AD
About
Hotel du Vin took over a set of Gothic Revival buildings on Ship Street in the Lanes and turned them into one of the chain's most characterful properties, all exposed beams, wine-themed decor, and a bistro that takes its cellar seriously. The location puts guests right inside the Lanes, so cobbled streets, jewellers, and small restaurants are on the doorstep rather than a walk away. Rooms are comfortable rather than huge, in keeping with the age of the building. It works well for a couple wanting a food-and-wine-focused stay in the thick of the old town, less well for anyone wanting a sea view.
