About

First licensed in 1760 and barely changed since: a warren of small rooms with 18th-century bar fittings and wooden benches, and beer served with the seriousness the building deserves. The Star is the tap for Bath's own Abbey Ales, whose Bellringer is the standard order, and it sits on the National Inventory of Heritage Pubs as, in CAMRA's words, a rare and unspoiled pub interior of outstanding historic interest. It won Bath & Borders CAMRA's branch Pub of the Year award in 2022. Ten minutes up from the centre on the Paragon, and worth every step.
