About
A proper two-floor free house on Queen Street, a cobbled lane between Queen Square and the centre, known for exactly two things done well: cask ale and pies. The pies come from Pieminister and neighbours, served on mustard mash or chips, and the bar keeps two house beers, Raven Ale and Raven's Gold, alongside a rotating cask line-up. No bookings at all, no television, no music: you take your chances on a table, which is half the charm. The upstairs room is usually the quieter bet.
