The home of the Sally Lunn bun, a large, light brioche-style bun served sweet or savoury, baked here since the 1680s when the Huguenot refugee remembered as Sally Lunn worked in the bakehouse. The building at 4 North Parade Passage is billed as the oldest house in Bath, dating to around 1482, with a small kitchen museum in the cellar showing the original bakery and the archaeology beneath the house. It is unashamedly on every visitor's list and still worth doing: daytime service is walk-in (queues move fast), with bookings taken for the 15:30 set afternoon tea, evening dinner, and groups of twelve or more. Open daily 10:00-21:00.
