Red Kite Feeding at Bwlch Nant yr Arian

Natural Resources Wales feeds red kites by the lake at Bwlch Nant yr Arian every day at 2pm, and there is no charge to watch. NRW says to expect as many as 150 kites, often more in winter, swooping to take meat and eating on the wing. The site is nine miles east of Aberystwyth on the A44, signposted on the left. The easy-access Barcud Trail goes round the lake to a viewing point and a bird hide. The cafe and shop are no longer operating; there are portable toilets and a hot drink and cold food unit in the car park.
