Accessibility
Cliff Railway
The lower station has a paved ramp, each carriage has a wheelchair compartment with 830mm doors, and the site has a lift at the upper station and pathways suited to wheelchairs and pushchairs, all per the operator's accessibility page.
Vale of rheidol
First class and the accessible compartment must return on the same train, according to the railway's FAQ, because places are limited.
Waterfalls
The Devil's Bridge nature trail is not suitable for pushchairs (675 steps and rough ground), but the Punchbowl upper viewpoint can take a pushchair through the gate, per the operator's FAQ.
Arts centre
Wheelchair access to all auditoria and workshop spaces, with hearing loops in the Great Hall, Theatre and Cinema, per Hynt.
Contact venues directly about access before you travel; the town is steep once you leave the seafront.

Policing here is Dyfed-Powys Police. Call 101 for non-emergencies and 999 or 112 in an emergency. Aberystwyth police station is on Boulevard Saint Brieuc; front-counter hours were not confirmed from the force's own site in this research, so check before you travel.

Listed by NHS 111 Wales as open 24 hours, every day. It is about 800 metres east of the town centre on the hill, next to the road up to the National Library. For anything urgent that is not life-threatening, NHS 111 Wales is free by phone on 111.

Prescriptions are free in Wales when they are issued in Wales, for example by a Welsh GP or a Welsh out-of-hours service. A prescription issued in England and dispensed at a Welsh pharmacy is charged unless you hold an exemption, according to GOV.WALES and the NHS Business Services Authority.

Seafront on-street parking, Victoria Terrace, Marine Terrace and New Promenade
Rate: Charged daily 08:00 to 20:00 from 18 May 2026. Ceredigion County Council's 2026/27 fees list 2 hours at £3.50 and 4 hours at £5.00. Blue Badge holders park free with the badge displayed.
Pay at the machine or by mobile phone. Some older organiser and hotel pages still say seafront parking is free; the council's own notice is the source.
Park Avenue car park
Rate: Ceredigion County Council 2026/27 coastal tariff: 2 hours £4.00, 4 hours £5.00, 24 hours £7.00.
On Park Avenue, the road that the Vale of Rheidol Railway station is on. Blue Badge holders are exempt from charges in council pay and display car parks.
North Road car park
Rate: Council coastal tariff: 2 hours £4.00, 4 hours £5.00, 24 hours £7.00.
The Constitution Hill end of the prom. The Cliff Railway's accessibility page names it as the public pay and display car park about 300 metres from the lower station.
New Promenade car park

National Library of Wales car park
The Library says visitors and readers can use its free car park at the side of the building. The Arts Centre car park is charged in the day and free on evenings and weekends, per Hynt.
Pet-Friendly Info
Trains
Dogs are welcome on the Cliff Railway and across the summit site if well managed, per the operator. The Vale of Rheidol Railway carries dogs in standard class for £4.00 each, and assistance dogs travel free.
Waterfalls
Devil's Bridge Waterfalls take dogs on a lead, but large dogs struggle through the coin-operated turnstiles, so the operator suggests visiting when the attendant is on duty.
Pier
Well-behaved dogs are allowed on the decking at the front of the Royal Pier and in nominated zones, and must leave by 9pm.
