The town's main hotel, on the Old Cork Road a short walk from the centre, and the one place in Midleton with real scale: 82 bedrooms, a gym, an eighteen-metre pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Note the name. This was the Midleton Park Hotel and a great many listings, including some official tourism ones, still call it that; it now trades as Talbot Hotel Midleton as part of the Talbot Collection, and its old domain redirects to the new one. It is a practical base rather than a destination in itself: fifteen minutes from Cork city by road, walking distance to the distillery and Main Street, and it sells packages that bundle a room with distillery tickets.
