Muckross Traditional Farms
About
Spread through the Muckross grounds, the Traditional Farms recreate Kerry rural life in the 1930s, before electricity reached the countryside: working farmhouses, animals, a labourer's cottage and a blacksmith, with people in role to explain it. It is genuinely good for children, with a woodland playground, and a calm, unhurried counterpoint to the grandeur of the house next door. It runs seasonally, broadly spring to autumn, so check before a winter visit.
