Muckross House & Gardens
About
Muckross House is the Victorian mansion at the heart of the national park, a nineteenth-century manor whose grounds, given to the State in 1932, became the seed of the park itself. The house is shown by self-guided visit, with the gardens, lake walks and the nearby Muckross Abbey free to wander. It sits about six kilometres south of the town off the N71, an easy cycle or a short drive, and pairs naturally with the Traditional Farms next door.
