About

Out along University Road by the Corrib, the 1845 Quadrangle is the iconic building of the University of Galway, a Tudor-Gothic limestone pile modelled on Christ Church at Oxford. The grounds are open to the public and a free riverside University and biodiversity trail runs from the Quad north along the water. It makes a quiet contrast to the bustle of the Latin Quarter, all old stone and river light. Bring time to wander the trail rather than just photograph the building and turn back.
