About
Tucked in beside the Spanish Arch, the City Museum is free to get into and tells the story of Galway through its city, maritime and social history. It is the kind of place that rewards an hour on a wet afternoon: Galway Hookers, old photographs, fishing gear and the everyday objects of a port town. The riverside windows give you a view back over the Corrib and the arch. A good first stop to make sense of everything else you will walk past in the centre.
